JKLYJ 10kV 1×120mm² Aluminum XLPE Overhead Insulated Cable

JKLYJ 10kV is a single-core covered overhead conductor for rural and suburban distribution networks where bare conductor is increasingly impractical. Aluminum conductor with UV-stabilized XLPE covering keeps the insulating layer functional through years of tropical sun and rain.

Overview
Compacted aluminum stranded conductor with a single layer of UV-stabilized cross-linked polyethylene as the insulating cover. The covering is not full insulation — accidental tree-branch contact is harmless rather than fault-clearing, but a deliberate phase-to-phase touch would still flash over. Field-rated for 25 years of outdoor SEA service.
Key Features
Tree-strike resistance
Branch contact does not cause an immediate phase-to-ground fault — reduces utility OpEx from vegetation maintenance and outage response.
Theft deterrent
Covered conductor cannot be safely cut for scrap value while energized — a meaningful theft deterrent in some SEA networks.
Applications
Rural MV distribution
10kV / 22kV pole-line distribution through forested or vegetation-dense rural areas.
